Sheepshead counter

The trump order where you can see it, and a counter that turns captured cards into a settled hand. Card points and trick counts are tracked separately, because a no-tricker is not a zero.

1. The table
2. Cards the picker captured

Tick every card the picker took in tricks, then add the bury below. The counter works out the defenders' total from what is left.

3. Bury and tricks

How the counter settles a hand

  1. Card points are Ace 11, Ten 10, King 4, Queen 3, Jack 2, and nothing for 9, 8, and 7.
  2. The picker's captured points and the bury are added together against a target of 61.
  3. The losing side's total decides Schneider: 29 or fewer when the picker won, 30 or fewer when the picker was set.
  4. A losing side that took no trick triples the stake instead.
  5. The picker settles that stake with every defender, so the table totals zero.
