How the calculator counts

A trump run is scored first, and it absorbs one royal marriage.
Remaining Kings and Queens score 4 a marriage in trump and 2 elsewhere.
Pinochle is the Queen of spades with the Jack of diamonds, and nothing else.
Around meld needs one of that rank in all four suits.
Multiples take their table value rather than being multiplied, except marriages, which simply add up.

How these rules were checked

Sources, not guesswork

Pinochle has no universal governing ruleset, and meld scales differ sharply between regions and clubs. This guide describes the Big Mike Games double-deck partnership table. The calculator is a second implementation of the meld the playable Pinochle table scores, kept honest by fixtures that check it against the engine's own source.
